Web Quests, like Treasure Hunts, are learning activities that involve students in searching the Internet for information on a specific topic.   However, Web Quests require more planning to involve students in higher levels of thinking.  Web Quest projects include an overview, guidelines, questions, links, and opportunities to write, create a product, or answer questions.

Assignments

1. For an introduction to Web Quests, work with your group to complete a Web Quest on Web Quests created by Bernie Dodge, the guru of Web Quests.  Complete the Web Quest appropriate to the level which you intend to teach.  Be ready to report your findings to the class.
2. You and your camp partner are a teaching team who are creating learning activities for unit of study in your classroom.  As part of the study you will involve your students in a Web Quest in which they will explore information on the Internet and use it to perform tasks that require higher order thinking skills.  To create the Web Quest you will take advantage of the excellent materials provided for teachers at the above and at the Web Quest Page.  Use the template provided in resources.
