Procedures for Applying for Nebraska Certification

1. Complete Nebraska Teacher Certification online application

2. Complete required information on application.

3. Write a check to the Nebraska State Department of Education for fees and attach to the application.

4. Dr. Schulz will arrange with the Registrar's Office for an official transcript (after graduation) to be sent to her to accompany application and fees.  Certification cannot be granted until the transcript is filed by the Chair of the Education Department.  Dr. Schulz will send the forms, check, PPST scores and transcript to the state following graduation/completion of the program.

5. You will receive your certificate in one to two months after the materials are sent to the state.

Information regarding certification in other states is addressed by the Chair of the Education Department.

Certification in Other States

Although the educational programs at College of Saint Mary and certification requirements are generally accepted for certification by other states, College of Saint Mary graduates have responsibilities to investigate the certification requirements in states where they are seeking to be certified.  Graduates may receive assistance in gaining this information from College of Saint Mary education department. Information is available at the web site for each state's department of education.
