| Monday |
Ceci....Well
today monday, most of the girls woke up early including me. I guess we were
all excited to get started on our first day. Then, we ate breakfast and
talked until it was time to head to class. Our first class was Environmental
Science. We had to wear these funky suits, masks, and gloves. We all had a
blast and laughed. Now, starting this website with Erandi is a new and
interesting experience. After lunch we had a scavenger hunt. Everybody was
runing around. I think the team I was in was in last place, but that didn't
matter because it was fun! Then, we went to YOOOOOGA....it was a VERY
new experience....man my back hurts.:) Well, then we had time to either play
soccer or kickball. OBVIOUSLY I chose to play soccer. I miss going to
soccer practice. After playing we had dinner...finaly we were there before
the CSI students, so we got first choice on the food. Then, came ZOOOOMBA.
At first it was a little hard, but then it was FUN. After ZOOOMBA came
painting our flower pots.FINALLY......came SWIMMING. We all had a blast in
the swimming pool. Well today was an awesome day. It feels like we all know
each other for more than just one day. We are all having a BLAST!!!
Erandi...I was nervous starting out my
first day at the Latina Summer Academy, but it was a blast! After breakfast,
we 2 classes, science and technology. Both of these focused on
improving our environment and trying to make the earth cleaner and
healthier. The rest of the day was filled with fun activities such as
a scavenger hunt, swimming, playing soccer, zumba dancing and yoga. |
| Tuesday |
Ceci...well first was breakfast then we had
science first. After science we went to technology class. Then we went to
CHALKO. I thought I didn't know were it was, but when we got there I
realized I did. FINNALLLLYYYYY we came back we were all
thankful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We had a hour break then we
went off to dinner. After dinner we had YOOOOGA.....man my back hurts. Then
our pillow talk?? got canceled so we went and saw Juana's presentation..We had about 3 hours before kuote un kuote lights out time. Man today was a blast and it didn't end till
about 2 IN DA MORNING!!!:)
Erandi...so when we finshed breakfast today, we
headed straight for the classes. Science class was more like art class
that day. We painted these boards that are gonna be recycling things,
then we made necklaces out of recycled pop cans, it was kinda hard because
the can was hard and it cut my fingers. Today was the day we went to
Chalco hills. I love going there because that is where I had many of
my cross country meets. Everybody was really tired though. We
took a hike and learned about many of the wildlife. We also got to see
a deer!! When we finally got back, we had a break, then dinner.
After we ate, we did some more yoga and then saw a presentation about
pollution. It really opened my eyes to the harmful things we are doing
to our planet. Later that night, we hung out in my friend's room until
we fell asleep. |
| Wednesday |
Erandi... Today was such a cool experience.
We all went to the zoo and got a special behind the scene showing. The
zoo worker showed us ABOVE and BELOW the aquarium, instead of the regular
tunnel. It was amazing, I was standing so close to the sharks
and other fish!!! We also got to see the tigers while they were in the
basement waiting to be put up on display. After dinner, there was a
tornado siren!! So we had to go to the basement for the rest of the
night!! It was so booooring. But finally, afterwards, we got relax
time until we went to bed:).
CECI........After breakfast we
went to our classes. They are so fun and unexpected. Then we went to the ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! We were lucky enough to get to see the behind
the scenes stuff. We saw the giraffes and the tigers in their homes. Then we
had an ice cream cone while talking about random stuff. We came and had
dinner. Well while we were having a lovely conversation the tornado sirens
started going off. So then came the horrible part....we spent like 3 Whole
hours or maybe even more in the basement because of the dumb tornado. Some
ladies from different colleges where there and they told us about all of the
opportunities available. Then finnaaaaallllyyyy we went to our rooms
upstairs. We had a Blast!! |
| Thursday |
Erandi.....today in t he
morning we went to both of our classes to continue what we have been doing
the whole week. I was so excited to go to the cruise, but we couldn't go
because of the logs in the river. Even though the cruise was canceled we
still went to eat lunch. It was fun....the fountain was pretty. We came back
and took a self-defense class. After that we had a pizza party.....I ate too
much. We had our last Sleep over because tonight is the last night. We had a
blast until midnight came.
Ceci.....We went to
breakfast...then to our classes....then to the cruise, but it got cancelled
so we just went to the park to eat. We took piktures and went to the bridge
and saw the logs that were floating VERRY rappidly. Then we took the self
defense class. I learned a mooooove to DEFEND myself. Then we had a PIZZZZZA
PARTY. Then each group did a skit. It was all fun...!!!!:) |
| Friday |
Ceci......Well today
is the last day and we are all happy and sad at the same time. We are going
to keep in touch though so this camp was a great experience to make
friendships! |
