Pre-Student Teaching Experiences
Each student requesting a
student teaching placement must have completed at least 100
hours in pre-student teaching experiences. These
experiences are required and provided within course structures
that meet student teaching requirements.
Initial visitation and
observation experiences are required for all Teacher Education students in
Introduction to Education (EDU 101). Direct
experiences with learners are required in teaching and methods
courses within each endorsement program.
Focused observations
and Instruction in partnership schools are required in Educational Psychology
(EDU 312) and in methods courses in specific areas in middle
and secondary certification courses.
The following unique
multi-cultural lab experiences are an integral part of
preparation for prospective
teachers at College of Saint Mary.
