Hi my name is Jen Sawyer! Thank
you for visiting My Web Site. It is still a work
in progress, so please revisit to see the new
items I add with different classes.
I am currently a student at the College of
St. Mary. After
graduating in December, I will be certified in special
education grades K-9 and language arts
for grades 4-9.
I have lived in many states in the U.S., but I
have always considered Omaha to be my hometown.
My husband Travis and I have been married for
almost thirteen years. Carson and Quinn are our
two wonderful boys. Most recently I taught preschool at
Holy Name School as well as aided in various
classrooms. In March of '09, I left my
position at Heartland Eye
Consultants as a optometric vision therapist due
to my school schedule. I still occasionally fill
in if needed. I strongly believe my work
with patients in optometric vision therapy will
make me a better teacher.
One of my favorite poems by Dorothy Law Nolte is
"Children Learn What They Live". The Last line
says, "If children live with acceptance and
friendship they learn to find love in the
world."
I hope to teach this to all my
