Recreation Coordinator
Assisted with development, organization, and
promotion of community, state, national, and international special events,
including the 2002 Olympic Torch Relay, the 2001 Korean Summer Event, the
Iowa Parks and Recreation Association’s annual conference, and Council
Bluffs Pride Week. Created and coordinated Arts-at-Large and Buddy Baseball
(Innovative Program Award Winner – 2001). Developed advertisements, fliers,
press releases, and department-wide program brochure. Assessed all programs
for Parks Master Plan. Created partnerships with other agencies for joint
projects. Directed youth and adult USTA-sanctioned tennis tournaments.
Coordinated youth summer day camp. Co-directed local Hershey Track & Field
Meet (Volunteer of the Year, 2002). Supervised adult softball, volleyball,
and basketball, and youth baseball/softball leagues, including scheduling,
coaches’ certification, player disputes, and sanctioning.

six months. Scheduled and instructed youth swimming lessons and adult water

implement youth-oriented special events.

of Western New York District Age Group Championships (1994). Instructed Red
Cross and YMCA Progressive swim lessons, including Learn to Swim program.
