¡Saludos! Welcome to the Denise Forrest education portfolio website.

I am a  Master of Arts in Teaching graduate student at the College of Saint Mary, earning endorsements in middle school Spanish, middle and high school Language Arts, and k-12 ESL.

I currently am student teaching at Bryan Middle School, in Omaha Public Schools. I recently completed 10 weeks in the 8th grade Spanish classroom, where I taught both Spanish 1/2 and Español para Hispanohablantes (Spanish for Spanish Speakers). Until the end of the winter quarter I will be student teaching in a 7th grade Language Arts classroom,.

I have a BA in English and Film Studies from the University of California, Berkeley, where I graduated with High Honors in 2003.

I spent 2 years living in Cuernavaca, Mexico, where I became a fluent Spanish speaker. ¡Yo hablo español!

I have lived in Omaha since 2006, and spent the past year working as a 4th grade paraprofessional and ESL tutor at Spring Lake Magnet Center elementary.
