I promise to:

Love children and do everything I can to help them be positive contributors to their community.

Teach self confidence, determination and kindness to my students. If children have a firm foundation, they will learn, grow, and excel.

Develop a bond with the parents or guardians and have an open door policy where parents are encouraged to participate in classroom activities such as family math night, class web page, regular emails, and happy grams to reinforce when something especially good happens.

Be consistent in discipline, in praise, and in problem solving. Children need to learn that a constant, dependable manner of dealing with the stresses of life is the best policy.

My classroom will be a caring place where students know they will act responsibly and respectfully and in turn be treated with respect.

I will model positive appropriate behavior because modeling is the strongest reinforcer; my actions will speak louder than my words.

I will teach in a constructivist teaching style. I’ll show how what we learn applies to our lives. As much as possible I’ll have real world examples. I’ll share the importance of school in building a successful life and strive to cultivate a desire and motivation to learn.

I will challenge students to achieve their personal best at all times.
