•                                                    Learn about recycling.

•                                                    Make a collage from litter and make suggestions on    how to help the litter problem.

Introduction:

•                    Class will learn about where trash goes after we throw it away and how it affects the Earth.  Class will also learn what litter is and that it is a problem.  Students will then learn about recycling and brainstorm items they could recycle.

•                    Students will get into small groups.  Each group will get to go to the “trash”pile at the front of the room (with sanitized trash) and pick trash of their liking.

•                    Students will then make a collage of their trash and be able to describe what they would do to keep this trash off of our Earth.

Conclusion:

•                    Students will present their collage to the class.

Assessment:

•                    Students will be assessed on their in class discussion and their ideas on how to keep the Earth clean.
