April

Hello there parents/guardians, a new month has come once again.  April is quite a busy month.  In all subjects we will be working hard to finish and start new things before school is out.  We also have are end of the year program which the whole school is practicing for.  Well I hope you and your family have a great April!

 Important dates to remember:

April 8- 12:  Easter vacation

April 11: Easter Sunday

April 15:  Reading Day

April 21:  Family Night at McDonalds

April 22: Earth Day

Math

In Math we will be finishing the nine times table and start on ten and eleven.  I will be sending home a lot of practice sheets.  Please try to do these with your kids.  Some will be extra credit.

Language

In Language we will be doing a fun lesson on the word Unique.  We will discuss how people are Unique?  What makes themselves unique?  Also we will be creating our own unique friends and writing a one page paper on what makes their new friend Unique!

  Social Studies

In Social Studies I will be talking to the children about Africa.  Then each student will get their own country.  Next they will have to do some research on their country and draw a picture of it.  There will be a handout coming out explaining more in detail.

Reading

In Reading we are going to have a reading day.  That day will be April 15, 2004.  The students may bring a pillow and blanket.  They  may also bring a snack.

Science

Celebrate Earth Day by doing something good for your community!

Family Night at McDonalds

Come on out and eat with the whole family! Parkview is having Family Night at McDonalds on April 21, 2004.  Please bring the slip I sent home with your kids and give it to the cashier when you pay!  Also don't forget to write the student's name or the teacher's.  Have fun!
