Welcome, my name is Nikisha Trahan.

I typically go by Nikkie.

I am double majoring in Elementary and Special Education.

I was born and raised in Southern Louisiana.

I attended Northwestern State University.

I moved to the Midwest in 2000.

I got a job as a paraprofessional in the Omaha Public School System working with self-contained moderately handicapped students.

I decided  I would further my career experience by attending College of Saint Mary.

I also work with special needs students by being involved with Special Olympics both at the regional and state level.

I also assist families that have children of special needs by providing respite and child care.

I really enjoy doing volunteer work and giving back to others.

After graduation I plan on seeking two masters, one in Technology and another in Applied Behavior Analysis (to work with children diagnosed on the autism spectrum).
