  1. What part of The Sign of the Beaver will you most likely remember? What made that part seem special to you?

  2. In what ways are Matt and Attean alike? How are they different? How well do you think that Matt and Attean have learned to accept and appreciate their differences? What example from the story can give to support your opinion?

  3. Why do you think Matt lied to Ben about his being alone? Why didn't Matt tell Saknis the same story?

  4. Consider Matt's age and the situations in which he finds himself. What would you have done differently if you had been in Matt's place?
